These terms form the agreement between you (the publisher) and Pic Me when you submit a podcast episode through the Pic Me podcast workspace. They sit alongside the Pic Me Terms & Conditions, Privacy Policy and Community Guidelines. Where they differ for podcast submissions, these terms apply.
1. Who may publish
- You must be a verified adult account holder at Pic Me. Minor accounts cannot publish podcasts.
- You must accept the current version of these terms before each submission is accepted. The version you accepted and the time of acceptance are recorded with the episode.
- Podcast publishing is a separate subscription from Pic Me Pro, Scout and Family plans. The first eligible 30 days are free once per account, then the subscription automatically renews at USD $15 per month until canceled. Returning subscribers are charged USD $15 per month without another introductory trial. Stripe Checkout shows the amount and timing before you confirm.
You can cancel podcast renewal in the podcast billing panel. Cancel before the trial ends to avoid its first renewal charge; otherwise cancel before the next renewal to avoid that renewal charge. Confirmed access continues through the displayed trial or paid-through date. Canceling a core Pic Me plan does not cancel the separate podcast subscription, and canceling podcasts does not cancel the core plan. A failed or expired subscription prevents publishing. Refund requests are handled through Pic Me support under the general payment terms and applicable rights; cancellation alone does not confirm a refund.
2. Your content and permissions
- You confirm you own or have written permission for every part of the episode: the recording, the music, the clips, and the voices of every person featured.
- Where a young person is featured or identified, you confirm you hold permission from that young person's parent or guardian for podcast distribution.
- You are responsible for any claim arising from material you submit.
3. Age rating chosen by the host
Every episode must carry an age rating you choose before submission:
- All ages — child friendly. You must also confirm the episode is child friendly. All-ages episodes are the only episodes shown to members under 18.
- Teens 13+ — adult members only. Hidden from accounts under 18.
- Adults 18+ — adult members only. Hidden from accounts under 18.
Choose the rating honestly and generously: if you are unsure whether an episode is suitable for children, do not rate it All ages. A wrong rating is a safety matter, not a marketing choice, and Pic Me may correct or remove the episode.
4. Automatic screening and advice
- Uploaded audio, and the audio track of an uploaded video episode, is screened automatically before any human review. The screen transcribes it and looks for content that is not child friendly, including sexual content, strong language, violence, drugs or alcohol, hateful language, self-harm references and gambling promotion.
- If the screen finds something, the episode is not published. An advisory is available in the app, and a generic email alert may be sent according to delivery settings, and the episode is held for a human reviewer.
- If the audio cannot be read automatically, the episode is held for a reviewer to listen to, or to watch in full for a video episode.
- Video episodes must be MP4 files, up to 25 MB, and are watched in full by a reviewer as well as screened.
- Screening is an aid, not a guarantee. Clearing the screen never means an episode is approved.
5. Independent review
Nothing is published until a Pic Me reviewer, who is not you, has listened to the full episode and confirmed the audio, the rights and permissions, youth safety, the age rating and the destination. Pic Me may hold, reject or remove any episode, and does not have to give a reason beyond the safety outcome recorded on the episode.
6. Hosting, playback and what we store
- Audio and video you upload are stored privately and are played back through short-lived signed links. They are never served from a public address.
- An episode link you supply instead of a file is treated as an external destination with its own privacy practices, and is labelled as such.
- Pic Me may remove stored audio and video when an episode is withdrawn, rejected or when your publishing access ends.
7. What is never allowed
- Sexual content involving minors in any form, or any sexualisation of young athletes.
- Content that identifies a young person's school, address or routine in a way that could expose them.
- Hate speech, harassment, threats, or content encouraging self-harm or disordered eating.
- Unlicensed music, pirated audio, or impersonation of another person or organisation.
- Avoiding review by re-uploading rejected content, splitting it into parts, or mis-rating it as All ages.
8. Privacy
Your show name and host name appear with a published episode. Your account email is not published. Transcripts produced for screening are used for the safety outcome and review record only.
9. Suspension and removal
Pic Me may pause publishing access, remove episodes, or close the podcast workspace for an account that breaches these terms. Serious safety breaches may also be handled under the Pic Me Community Guidelines and reported where the law requires.
10. Changes to these terms
Pic Me may update these terms. A new version is accepted before your next submission; already-published episodes keep the version accepted at the time of submission.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms can be raised through the Help page in your Pic Me account.
